The 6^th ‘Gwangmyeong Cave Wine Festival’, which Gwangmyeong Urban Innovation Corporation and Gwangmyeong Cave organization ended on October 3^rd with a success. 

For 4 days from September 30^th, this event will be held at Gwangmyeong Cave Light Square in Gwangmyeong city. During this period, the Gwangmyeong Cave organization operates 164 domestic wines while operating 28 businesses nationwide.

It was very meaningful because it was the first event held in three years since the COVID-19 pandemic situation, and wineries from all over the country gathered under the theme of ‘Finding the light of Korean wine’. The Gwangmyeong Cave Wine Festival organization, which has established itself as the representative festival of Gwangmyeong City, drew attention with various events. Obviously, as people's aesthetic level and knowledge regarding wine label design and whatnot increased, the creative label competition was the most popular, actually. 

JW Art Gallery is the only gallery that has participated in the creative label competition through image sponsorship. Art director Lee Ji-soo actually tasted and smelled about 40 wines participating in the event, and selected the artist's works that best fit the wine profile. JW Art Gallery also provided them with a designed gallery tag as well. 

As for the creative label competition, wines labeled with the existing label and the artist's work were displayed at the same time, and the audience voted freely by putting a sticker on the label image they liked.

On the last day of the event, the grand prize of honor was the ‘NV21-105_Untitle’ label by Rhee Kwang-bok, which was attached to ‘N Wine Grape Wine’ of Apple Papa (Yeongdong). Regarding his painting, it is rare to see his works nowadays. That was painted in his early era. Now, he is famous for the Apple Series but this time, we could find that he has something else such as a duck swimming in dark colors. The gold medal went to Jo Min-young's 'Toi', which was attached to the ‘Chusa 40 Brandy’ of Yesan Apple Wine (Yesan), and the silver prize was Park Jong-sung's '21_06-Hwangmae', which was attached to the Gran Cotto red wine from Green Farm (Ansan).
