JW Art Gallery, which leads Korea’s art investment market and constantly discovers new talented artists, invited Shin Ye-jin who has been showing outstanding work activities as part of 'Revival and Gaze of Female Artists of the year' planned by the gallery.
As part of the first start, JW Art Gallery has been keeping an eye on three female artists who have been showing stunning work for a long time, and the first runner-up is Shin Ye-jin. She is working on so many ceramic towers piled up and hundreds of large and small ceramic parts placed in disorder beneath them.
‘Nondeterministic nonperiodic flow'
This exhibition, which is the sixth planned exhibition of JW Art Gallery and the fifth solo exhibition of artist Shin Ye-jin, is held under the title of " Nondeterministic nonperiodic flow".
<Nondeterministic nonperiodic flow> known as one of the physics phenomena is a kind of algorithm that goes through different processes each time and produces unexpected results even if the same input data is given. It comes down to finding a way to perceive nature through other senses. Art director Lee Ji-soo, who planned this exhibition, explains, "It implies the possibility of change due to the variable of energy from nature and the form that comes from the change of art."
Meanwhile, despite the pandemic crisis that froze the art and culture world last year, JW Art Gallery exhibits some remarkable artists such as horticultural instructor and photographer Park Ki-cheol, tattoo artist Gong Greem, and photographer Hwang Sung-won successfully.
Following last year, when artists with such diverse talents were introduced, this year, exhibitions and pop-ups by female artists are scheduled. Starting with Shin Ye-jin, in the second half of this year, Gong Greem's pop-up, Jo Min-young's solo exhibition, and Jo Myung-hee's are on standby.
