Artist Joo Woon-hang, who works as a contract artist of JW Art Gallery, was invited to World Art EXPO in Seoul 2023, which announced its first official opening in the same year.
Joo Woon-hang, who is actively working as a senior painter in the Korean painting industry, graduated from the Department of Art Education at Gyeongin National University of Education in 1988. He has established his own firm territory through ‘The Spring of Consciousness’ series with non-stop consideration and curiosity about 'human consciousness energy'.
He has won numerous awards at the Korea Art Competition and the Gyeonggi Art Competition from his early days. Since then, he has worked as a judge of a number of art competitions and as a director of the Western Painting Division of the Korean Art Association branch, making remarkable contributions to the art scene and community, in general.
In particular, he participated in several invitational and group exhibitions in recognition of his works at leading overseas exhibitions and galleries. As such, Joo Woon-hang has been recognized domestically and internationally at the same time. Recently, he was invited to World Art EXPO in Seoul 2023 hosted by the Korean Committee of the International Association of Art and supervised by World Art EXPO in Seoul Steering Committee.
Lee Ji-soo, art director of JW Art Gallery, who is in charge of planning his special exhibition, said, "As this is the first large-scale art and culture event to be held this year, we will do our best to show the fundamental message that artist Joo Woon-hang wants to express as much as possible so that the audience can approach it in a friendly way."
The 1st World Art EXPO in Seoul 2023 will be held next week from February 9th (Thu) to 12th (Sun) at C Hall, COEX as a festival for all representing Korean art and world art.
